Rumi Inspired Song for Peace

Hello lovelies!

In light of all the bombings…and political upheaval…and any unrest at all really, I decided to write a song.  The bridge is actually a quote from Rumi that I have recently fallen in love with.

“Silence is God’s first language; all else is a poor translation.”

 Be well, friends.  Remember that cultivation of peace begins inside…it’s hard work, but is worth while because even if it doesn’t change the world it provides one more place of solace for the suffering…plus, we can never be sure what will change the world.

Much love,

Guerrilla Lovely.

    1. Thank you!! Sometimes…songs just need to be sung.
      And sure, I’d be happy to, here they are:

      Too many words
      Leaves the silence too strong
      And then we cannot hear,
      No we cannot hear
      The beating of our hearts or
      The words in a song;
      Deafened by fear,
      We are deafened by fear.

      Where is the light
      That brings peace
      To the silence?
      Where is the prayer
      That brought us here?

      Too many signs
      Make our eyes go dim
      And then we cannot see,
      No we cannot see
      The beauty that lives
      Inside of our souls
      Trying to break free oh
      It needs to break free.

      Where is the light
      That brings peace
      To all the images?
      Where is the prayer
      That brought us here?

      Silence is God’s first language;
      All else is a poor translation. ×2

      Send out a prayer
      To bring peace
      To the silence.
      Send out a prayer
      To bring peace here;
      Send out a prayer
      To bring peace
      To all the images,
      Send out a prayer
      To bring peace here.
